Atty's Attic

My attic is dusty and has a plethora of junk in it. I must say it's a fun place to hang out and look at what's rolling around in my head. If you don't mind the dust, I'd love to have you.

In Case You Missed It Monday

I’ve missed you all!

It has been a very, very long week for me. My kids were out of school, I just got back from visiting my mother in Houston, and oh, yeah, MY BIG DEBUT!

In case you missed it, my book My Beautiful Suicide debuted Tuesday the 15th. So far it’s going well. But today is In Case You Missed It Monday and that means it’s time to see what we’ve missed. Some of the links may be two weeks old since last Monday I was busy with, oh, yeah, MY BIG DEBUT!

Anyway, lets get started.

My son Max has a very pathetic diet. He used to eat well but that slowly stopped when he started his ADHD medicine. Now it’s a struggle to get him to eat well and one of his favorite foods, like most kids, are McDonald’s chicken nuggets. Yummm. Well not so much. Guess what’s in those wonderful golden snacks? Click here if you dare!

If that doesn’t scare you here are somethings that might. From one of my favorite websites, Lisa Binion explains to us a few things we may want to avoid this Halloween should we have any of these phobias.

A phobia can be pretty debilitating but this medical condition is outright scary. It is called Cotard’s Syndrome, or called Walking Corpse Syndrome. It’s a very rare and serious syndrome that makes you believe that you are dead! Not a fun thing to go through I assume.

Also not fun to go through was a government shutdown! This was pathetic and others in the world are laughing at us I’m sure, but one person in particular is not laughing, but spanking our bottoms. Her Royal Majesty the Queen is Revoking our Independence!

It’s shameful, shameful I tell you!

Now for a few writer’s links. First to start off with, Adverbs. Yes, we all lovingly use them. They make our lazy writing into flowery works of shallowly written art. Kim W. Justesen’s advice? Stop it!

It would be wise of us to take her advice and the advice of our next link. Wise Ink tells, advises, us which fonts to never, ever, EVER, use! Pay attention!

And one more bit of writing advise to pay attention to– how to behave. It may seen like DUH! But there are plenty of ill-mannered writer’s out there and this is an article of what not to do. Chuck Wendig’s advice? Stop it!

Now the last link is just for the fun of it. Here are 65 Amazing Facts That Will Blow Your Mind!

Have a great week!
