Atty's Attic

My attic is dusty and has a plethora of junk in it. I must say it's a fun place to hang out and look at what's rolling around in my head. If you don't mind the dust, I'd love to have you.

Christina North comes to hang out

When The Heart Lies by Christina North

Hey everyone, please welcome author Christina North to my attic. I have the ice cream ready and melting so let’s get started.

Who are you talking to? The stuffed animals or the ugly prom dress?

I just tried the prom dress on, not a good look for me anymore. Raggedy Ann and Andy laughed at me, no, I don’t want to talk about it. So, who are you and where did you come from?

I am a proud native of Syracuse, NY. Although I have spent most of my life there, I have also lived in Florida, South Carolina, and Virginia. So, I get around. He, he, he. My work and life experience have aided in developing story ideas. Having been an R.N. in the burn/ surgical /ICU, and a hairstylist. While working various side jobs, I’ve acquired people’s different life experiences by listening to their stories. Again, I get around.

I have two teenage boys who are my biggest supporters.

Obviously, you’re a writer, what is the name of your book and the general plot?

When The Heart Lies, is a story of Kinsley Wentworth. She is a woman in a hopeless situation. Nick, her husband, is an alcoholic who is a self-centered, womanizing man. His ambivalence toward her causes her to leave him and desire for an everlasting love. Suffering from depression and anxiety, her low self-esteem hinders her decision-making.

She ends up meeting a complete stranger, Wayde, online and takes her three-year-old son, Max, along with her. That’s when a private Investor, Jackson Pierce, enters their lives. Hired to watch over her and her son, he falls in love with her as he watches from afar during her six-month ordeal with Wayde. Determined to reunite her son with his father, she denies Jackson and heads back to Nick. It’s not a good idea since she has fallen for Jackson and believes that he’s her true love.

Where did you come up with the idea?

I use my true-life experience of going off to live with a complete stranger. Of course, I had met him over the internet. I believed this experience would make a great novel, so I fictionalized the story. That’s how When the Heart Lies was created.

Which of your characters do you like the most and why?

There are two, Xavier and Jackson. They are the strongest men Kinsley has ever met, but if I had to choose, it would be Jackson because his “wickedly delicious” as one Amazon reviewer writes.

Which one do you hate the most, and why?

Wayde. He is the most ghastly and manipulating man Kinsley has ever met. His psychological maneuvering of her weaknesses makes her both hate and fear him.

You’re stranded on an island and you are granted three things;

I want Jackson, a large notebook, and a pen or pencil. (Which last longer?)

I’m not done with the question yet, antsy, antsy, antsy.

Sorry.

It’s okay, on with the question. You’re stranded on an island and you are granted three things. Wait!

An IPod with only one song loaded, what is it?

Yikes, this is a hard one. I am very eclectic with my music choices. Hum, it would be Flor D’Luna (Moonflower), by Santana, Kinsley and Jackson dance to the song in the story. And since I’ve brought Jackson along, I’ll have my chance to do the same!

A book with the last chapter missing, what is it and who wrote it?

The Bible. The book of Revelation is the scariest thing that I have ever read. I could do without it.

Don’t blame you on that one!

And a lunchbox with a sandwich and a full thermos, yummy, what kind of sandwich and drink would you appreciate?

It would be a turkey sandwich with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and avocado on dark rye bread. If I only had one drink, I would have water. That’s the nurse in me because I’d really want a coke.

What is the biggest mistake you have made in your life? Not writing or publishing mistake – any mistake. Even if it happened in 3rd grade, I wanna know about it.

Going off to live with a man…I have never met in person!

What would you do for a Klondike bar?

Nothing. I hate dark chocolate.

You’re still stranded on that island and two people show up, the character you love the most, and the one you hate the most, and they both know what you said about them. What do you do?

Give Wayde a harsh, venomous rant with Jackson standing by to protect me. Then I’d eat my sandwich while Wayde watched, salivating as he starved.

Nice

My biography:

Christina North is an author who prides herself on creating characters that are authentic, yet, heartbreakingly, troubled souls. Often unlikable, they live, love, and struggle, in a way that not everyone can empathize with. Her characters are recreation of the kind of people we all know, love, and possibly loathe at times.

In a world that is often harsh and unforgiving, they don’t always make the right choices and do battle to find their way. Perhaps, you’re one of them. Christina is determined to take her readers with her as she examines the darker side of life in the depth and bring peace and happiness in the end. She also enjoys mixing it up with a bit of suspense, a dash of thrills and a great romance.

A single mother of two teenage boys, Christina was born and raised in Upstate, New York and now resides in Richmond, Virginia. She aspires to live the remainder of her life, creating stories that will touch the hearts of readers everywhere.

Wonderful! Thank you so much for visiting my dusty attic. I’ll be eating your Klondike bar since you don’t like dark chocolate and it’s melting here.
